“Our barley varieties are a wide range of feed to malt and everything in between. AAC Connect is our go-to for malt, while Esma VUA and CDC Churchill are both really high yielding feed/malt varieties, meaning they are not the maltsters first choice but can be accepted as replacements for export malt. CDC Maverick, CDC Renegade, Stockford and AB Tofield are feed/forage varieties with unique traits. CDC Maverick is very good at withstanding drought and performs better than other varieties on marginal land, while CDC Renegade is a smooth awned 2 row as well but has higher grain yield on above average rainfall years. AB Tofield’s claim to fame is its standability in a 6-row option with high forage yield. Stockford is very unique with no beards and high digestibility, in a more compact plant. CDC Durango is a new 2-row feed with excellent standability and high grain yield, an upgrade from CDC Austenson.”
